In 1959, a group of young men, sharing the same heritage and love
for the game of soccer, banded together to form the Istria Sport Club,
Inc. From its early beginning as a club dedicated to promote the game
of soccer, Istria S.C. has today become an important member of the
community and continues to preserve the heritage of its members, the
Istrian-Americans in the Greater New York area. As Istrian-Americans migrated from the West Side in Manhattan to Queens, Istria S.c. has followed and constantly enlarged its quarters to accommodate its growing membership. Its present location offers facilities for all ages, from youngsters to retirees, over a friendly card game or a game of soccer or for food lovers, home style cooking. The growth in membership has resulted in the development of our Youth and Senior Soccer Programs. Our teams compete in various age groups both in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League or the Long Island Soccer Futbol League (LISFL). Through the dedication and hard work of all the coaches, Istria S.C. has shown excellent skills and also a sense of good sportsmanship. As with any endeavor, the success or failure of an organization is dependant solely on the hard work of a dedicated group of people. It is a tribute to the kind of people associated with Istria Sport Club, Inc. that it has not only endured over the years, but has in fact, grown and prospered and become a moving force in the Borough of Queens. The continued success of the Istria Sport Club will be in the hands of the "Next Generation". This group will uphold all the traditions of the club and create new ones. The "Next Generation" continues to expand in culture and heritage as well as sports. |

He mainly is involved in the club's soccer program. He
is coach for the over 30 men's team. Carlo is also involved
with other organizations, JCSL, FIAO, LISLF to name a
few. 
Involved in many of the clubs activities. Supports the
soccer teams. Also belongs to many of the other Istrian
clubs.

Aside from being secretary and recording all the notes
for the meeting. Lilli is deeply involved with the junior
soccer teams. She also helps with many of the events that
the club has.
Mirella organizes all the of club's events. She makes
all of the arrangements for the parties and the trips.
